Sunday morning ...

Happy Sunday everyone ,

today I decided to bake a traditional german Erdbeerkuchen ! It is a strawberry cake with jelly on the top . Yesterday , seeing this delicious strawberries at the market I just couldn't resist ! I love this cake as it is light and fruity , the beginning of SpringSeason ! You can serve it plain or with whipped cream on top of every piece . I chosed whipped  almond cream .


Recipe

75 g soft Butter
75 g Sugar
1 package Vanilla sugar
2 eggs
125 g wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon fresh Milk
1 kg strawberries
1 package red Tortenguss / red glaze

Stir the soft butter and add both sugars into it . Insert the eggs one by one and keep stiring . Mix the flour with the baking powder and sieve the flour into the dough . Stir it well and insert the milk . Put it into a tart pan ( 28 cm diameter ) . You can use a silicon one , so you don't have to put any oil on it , if not make sure to grease your pan .
Bake it for 20-25 min. on a preheat oven ( 175-200 degree )

While the tart is in the oven wash your strawberries and let them dry on kitchen paper .
Ding , dong .....tart is ready ! If you are like me don't forget to put some alarm to remind you about the cake ....... now you can make the best part . Take a plate and put the tart upside down on it . WOW ! Isn't it a great moment when you see your work of splendor ?
Now fill your tart with your strawberries . You can cut them in half or even smaller , you can put them as they are , it is up to you . Prepare the glaze . Read the directions on the package . For mine I need 250 ml water and 1 tablespoon sugar . I stir it until it is one step before boiling . Let it cool for 3-4 minutes ( it stays better on the strawberries ) and cover all the strawberries with it . Put it into the fridge for at least 2 hours !

Nights in Movies ....

I am a big fan of old movies and one of my favorite is Imitation of Life ! When I was little this movie was shown every Christmas on the german TV . I was sitting there with my aunt and even thou we knew what happened next we shhh everyone . We still remember those times when we meet . She lives in Germany and we don't see each other often , so no more Imitation of Life Christmas .
Imitation of Life is a 1959 American romantic drama directed by Douglas Sirk . Find more information here 
Even thou this movie is quite old it still is very up to date . It shows how much  the colour of someone affects relationships , society and chances in Life !!! The Cast is incredible , Lana Turner , John Gavin , Juanita Moore and many more !
It's very touching and at the end I always make sure that there is a large box of tissues next to me ! A great movie for a night in .....cosy in a blanket on the sofa/bed/chair/floor or wherever you like !

today I am about to post in German , as I want to write about a german book I read which was soooo funny and wonderful that it really relaxed me so much ! If you know german BUY this book !!!!!!!!!!! The free translation of the title : 12 Months , 12 Dudes and a Happy End . The Writer is called Juli Rautenberg and she actually really wrote a blog about finding the perfect Man !

 Hallo an alle deutschsprachige Leser/innen !
Ich stehe unter ExamensDruck und wollte wenigstes abends etwas lesen , dass mich entspannen laesst . Also fing ich mit der Suche im Internet an . Und so bin ich auf dieses Buch gestossen . Ich fand die Rezensionen recht gut und habe mir dieses Buch auf mein Ipad geladen ! UND es keine sekunde lang bereut . Ich musste Traenen lachen und konnte mich selbst in einigen Situationen wiederfinden . Ein super Buch , sehr fluessig und witzig geschrieben . Juli Rautenberg hat wirklich einen Blog geschrieben und dieses "Experiment" ein Jahr lang darin dokumentiert . Ich werde natuerlich auch ihr zweites Buch lesen , eine Fortsetzung dieses Buches .  Der Titel : Ich nehme alles zurueck und behaupte das Gegenteil . Sobald ich es gelesen habe werde ich mich melden , bis dahin alles Liebe und lasst euch vom lesen verfuehren !

Finally I am a few days at home !!! But only a short break as I will be away again for  about a month . So ...NO I still havent finished my scarf yet :( and there is no picture to show .

Great Idea for making beautiful scarves out of old T-shirts !

the other day I was spending some time on Pinterest , I love the Ideas and Fotos in there and I saw a beautiful scarve made from TShirts . Yesterday I started doing one for me . It is not ready yet but I show you some pictures of the preparation . As soon as I finish my scarve I post Fotos , of course !!!!!
1. First I searched for an old TShirt !

2. Cut the bottom hem off !

3. Cut 1 inch stripes all the way up. They don't have to be even as you stretch the out and noone , not even you will notice !

4. Strech the stripes out , really hard ! No need to be gentle with them !

5. This is what it looks like when tou finish with them !

....and this is how far I got . Have a look on the blog where I find it ! As i said , I will post my scarve as soon as I am ready !
